This really comes in handy to expand the room in my oven. For some reason my oven only has one rack, so I really enjoy the extra space. A 9 x 13 pan fits very nicely on the shelf. I can serve a lot of people with the extra baking room.

I tried to fit this item into my standard size oven with every turkey roaster I own. It doesn't work; it's too wide. Moreover, my flat casserole dishes are too large for the openings. I gave the product a two rating rather than a one because the product is well made and I think would work well in a commercial size oven with smaller casseroles than mine.

This looked like a really good idea, especially during the holiday season. I am forever running short of oven space. That said, this doesn't do what I thought it would do. I've set it up three times, and taken it back down three times without putting it in the oven. Yes, it gives you a few more shelves, but in the size of a standard electric oven, (I have a GE TruTemp built-in) you CANNOT fit a roast of any size next to the 3 tier oven rack as is stated on the front of the package. Also, beware, you either must use a low temperature, or risk burning the bottom of your roast. Since the oven rack has to be lowered to the lowest level to put the Oven Companion in the oven, whatever is being roasted and the item in the lowest level of the Oven Companion are very close to the heating element. Maybe this works well for gas ovens only?
It is definitely sturdy enough to hold full casseroles, but if you look at the picture, you will notice that the casseroles on the Oven Companion don't have any lids on them. The casseroles won't fit with lids. Last thing, I've had an issue with mine in that it isn't level--it leans to one side.

this makes use of the whole oven when you are using a high roasting pan by allowing three other items to be in the oven at the same time.

Nifty Home Products Baking Rack Insert
